Hi Friends,
Like any new blogger I am inclined to think the same way " What do I write in my first blog". I thought for a while and decided to let it go the way my thought process meanders,
"Saar post" - This used to be the voice that makes you rush towards your front gate to receive a mail delivered by the post man in his typical khakhi attire, carrying bag full of mail - god knows how he manages to stuff all that truck load in his tiny little bag.I am referring to the days when you could get a message, letter, invite, news, etc etc ONLY through post. The other alternative was telegram. Now we live in the era of email.
Technology is great but the real fun in receiving the "post" and reading the hand written letter by your loved ones that bring happiness - No real match !. Especially to receive a "REGISTERED POST" if it is something you have been waiting for.....
My experience goes like this...
The most expected "post" by me was the self-addressed envelope I had carefully pinned-up to the application form for Engineering admissions to DOTE (in TN it used to be referred as Anna University, DOTE I (Government Colleges). DOTE II (Self-financed colleges) - as the order of priority for aspirants to Engineering studies). My heart skipped a beat when I opened the envelope to read the printed marks I had scored in the entrance exam. Back in 90's, the ranking was done for 250 with aggregates for Maths, Physics & Chemistry (commonly referred as MPC) weighted-averaged to 200 & rest 50 for entrance exam. I had secured 40.4, good marks but well below my expectations & far below cut-off requirements for merit listing. Well I managed to end up doing my BE in REC (now called NIT)...
I must admit, if I had to open my email inbox and click the mouse to check-out the marks from the website, I bet I would not have got the same feeling, the same excitement...
"Saar post" - still rings in my ears !!!
